Veteran Republican strategist Karl Rove on Monday got out President Donald Trump for “over the best” assaults on the media.
In a meeting on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” the previous senior guide to President George W. Shrubbery said Trump’s continued bashing of the press as the “adversary of the general population” “just meshes on me.”
“I grew up amid the season of the Cold War,” said Rove, per Mediaite. “That is an expression that was utilized by Stalin against the foes of the Communist administration. I figure the president would be very much encouraged to tone down the talk.”
Meander clarified that “each president has issues with the media” and that he “didn’t care for the scope” of Bush, “especially” by The New York Times.
In any case, rather than tarring all media with a similar brush, Rove asked Trump to respond on a “case-by-case premise,” since “calling names isn’t useful to our nation from any side.”
